Ringer Tee by Brindille & Twig
The Ringer Tee by Brindille & Twig is a really popular free childrens t-shirt pattern. I have seen so many beautiful versions of this t-shirt that I thought it was about time I made one for our little boy. The pattern has the option for either long or short sleeves. I chose to make the short sleeved version using some of our I love cars Jersey .
This was a straightforward garment to sew, but I found attaching the neckband and sleeve bands rather fiddly. I attached and removed the neckband what felt like 100 times to get it to lay flat, in the end I made the band about 1 inch shorter and half the width of what the pattern says. The issues that I had were because I need more practice sewing for little people, the pattern is really lovely. I also didn’t put a band around the bottom of the t-shirt, I simply overlocked the raw edge, turned it up and stitched around twice.
My car mad little boy loved it! It is a little big for him at the moment, but he will grow into it.
The I Love Cars jersey that I used to make this t-shirt is made by Stof Fabrics of Denmark. We have a lovely selection of their AVALANA jerseys and sweatshirts in stock. Each of their jerseys are Oeko-Tex-Standard 100 which means that they have been tested and certified to be free from substances that are known to be harmful. This makes them ideal for making clothing, especially for the little people in our lives.
