Fresh Off the Bolt: New Fabric Arrivals - June 2025
I love this time of year, the weather is warming up, summer holidays are on the horizon, and best of all, lots of beautiful, summery fabrics arrived throughout May. In this blog post, I’ll be sharing all of the new arrivals with you.
Ex-Designer Fabrics
I was very excited when my supplier showed me these ex Ralph Lauren dressmaking fabrics! There is a crisp cotton poplin which has a lovely blue background and anchors across it. I can picture this fabric sewn up into shirts, dresses and skirts.
The other three are cotton and linen blends and the prints on these are stunning! You might recognise the Dragons and Flowers design with a blue background and eye catching flowers and dragons across it, the next has a red base and ladies faces across it. Last but not least is a pretty floral design in pinks and greens across a light coloured background. These cotton linen blend dressmaking fabrics are versatile and would suit a wide range of dressmaking projects including tops, blouses, skirts, dresses and jumpsuits.
Cotton Double Gauze
These lightweight cotton double gauze fabrics are available in four solid colour ways: Raspberry Pink, Pistachio Green, Denim Blue and Lilac. Double gauze is very soft to the touch and has a gorgeous crinkly texture. It is made from two layers of gauze fabric that are basted together at intervals. You could use this fabric to sew yourself airy tops, blouses, shorts, dresses and loungewear.
Cotton Broderie Anglaise
Broderie Anglaise is such a summery fabric. This unusual zig zag design runs parallel to the selvedge and it is available in two eye catching colour ways: lime green and sapphire blue. You could use these fabrics to sew yourself a beach coverup, blouse, dress or skirt.
Cotton and Cotton Blend Fabrics
The first is a lovely off white cotton seersucker fabric. Seersucker has a lovely puckered texture from the way it is woven. You could use this fabric to sew yourself a top or blouse, the puckered texture is great for statement sleeves as it helps them to hold their shape. The next fabric is a striped cotton blend which would be nice for summer blouses and tops. Finally is my favourite in this section, a gorgeous cotton blend fabric with an amazing blue floral design across a white background. It would make the prettiest blouses and tops!
Drapey Viscose Fabrics
You might recognise Elena and Nicola as I've had these designs before but on a different base cloth (Elena was on a Tencel lawn (and I also have it in a green colour way which is viscose as well) and Nicola was on a viscose twill base). This time they are both lovely and smooth viscose lawn fabrics which drape beautifully, they're perfect for sewing yourself a dress, blouse, skirt, top or pair of summery trousers. Nora Crinkle Viscose is an ex Zara fabric and it has a lovely crinkly texture. This would be lovely sewn into tops, trousers, dresses and skirts.
Jersey Fabrics
I have two lovely new jersey fabrics. The first is a beautiful floral cotton jersey and the other is a classic black viscose jersey fabric.
I hope you like all of these new fabrics and I can't wait to see what you sew with them
Happy sewing!
Katie
